October 6, 2008 - Game Update #66.4
We apologize for the short downtime but it was required to fix a problem that had been occuring over the last several hours.
A major bug was found in the new recruitment system that was causing the servers to get overloaded making some users unable to login and the site slower than normal.
To get EverWars back online we have temporarily disabled the awarding of recruitment rewards until we are able to resolve this problem.
During this period, players will not receive recruitment rewards but all recruits will still be tracked and the awards queued. When the recruitment system problem is fixed, all queued recruitment prizes will be awarded.
Prize types awarded for winning battles are now based on the level of difficulty of the battle rather than player ratings. The amount of life you have remaining will determine the type of prize code you receive. The current settings will be adjusted as needed but most players should notice an increase in platinum prize codes as a result of this change.
The recruitment system has been upgraded to reward recruiters with Legendary items periodically. It will take quite a few recruitment points (new recruits or existing recruits who battle) to earn the Legendary items but the rewards are well worth it.
In addition to normal recruitment prize codes, players will now receive 25 everpoints for every recruit point they earn.
Battle Phase #4 has ended and a new battle phase (#5) has started! As with each new battle phase, all previous battlelogs (includes battlepoints) have been removed.
Winners of Battle Phase #4 will be announced soon!
We would like to thank the users who helped create the foundation for the new EverWars FAQ by submitting questions and answers. The users below took advantage of the event to earn some free everpoints and help out other players as well.
The following players received payments for helping with the FAQ:
Personater - 300ep
Marduke - 150ep
Athonese de Courtenay - 200ep
Rache - 200ep
ThAwEdCrEw - 300ep
Havan IronOak - 400ep
Die man Die - 100ep
If you missed the event then keep watching the Support Forum for another chance in the near future!
The stats on Legendary items have been corrected. All players who owned legendary items have received their replacement items.
In our continuing effort to balance casters, we have increased the chance of casters scoring critical hits using primary attack spells so they have a chance to critical more often. Players with a zero or less Critical stat will not be able to score critical hits.
We have also increased the critical damage cap for casters scoring critical hits using primary attack spells so they have a chance to do more damage.
Due to fewer stat items available, both Attack and Critical stat caps are set to 200 for now.
The chance to score a critical hit with a maxed Critical stat has been significantly increased from the way it was prior to the implementation of the Critical stat.
The number of battles required to start an auction and bid on an auction have been decreased to ten (10).
The minimum reserve price on items has been reduced.
In preparation for upcoming changes to the player market, the durations of all new auctions will be one (1) day.

Encouraged by their recent discovery of the lost tombs of Varek and Zarek, the explorers of Aganon have continued their escavations in the lands beyond and are pleased to announce the discovery of the lost kingdom of Drynn. For those who are not familiar with our history, Drynn was the outpost kingdom belonging to the Twelve Kingdoms of Aganon. The kingdom of Drynn was the first line of defense against the creatures of the Dark Forest and the enemies of the Twelve Kingdoms surrounding the kingdoms.
It was long thought that Varek and Zarek were so concerned with spies stealing their knowledge and passing it on to each other or even worse, to the enemies of the Twelve Kingdoms, that they worked outside of the kingdoms in hidden dwellings. Those beliefs were confirmed with the recent discovery of the lost tombs which led the explorers to believe the Twelve Kingdoms were very close. Scouts were dispatched in all directions from the tombs in search of the lost kingdoms. Within weeks, the northern scouts reported the discovery of the lost kingdom of Drynn.
While the outside of the surviving structures were severely eroded and damaged, a large amount of historical scrolls and items were recovered by the escavators. Most of the scrolls found were scribed by Varek and Zarek well after the scrolls founds in their tombs.
Our blacksmiths and scholars have been working endlessly to create large numbers of new warrior and magical items. Many of the new items are already finding their way into the hands of warriors who are victorious in battle.
The following updates are now live:
With the release of the Lost Kingdom of Drynn (LKoD) item expansion, many previous items have had their rarity levels downgraded.
The "uncommon" rarity type has been removed from the game and all previous uncommon items have been changed to common items.
Support has been added to the prize code system to allow a preset list of items so that winning players can select one item from the list. This support is only being implemented for specific uses such as event awards, battle phase awards, etc. and will not be used for normal prize codes.
Basic Item Pack Codes included in item packs purchased in the EverWars Store now give players rare or higher rarity items. Previously, they gave players uncommon or higher rarity items.
A new "Legendary" rarity level has been added to the game. Legendary items are some of the best items in the game. Each Ultra Rare Item Code included in item packs purchased in the EverWars Store has a chance of awarding a Legendary item. Legendary items are sellable both to in-game merchants and in the Player Market.
The CAPTCHA code requirement when adding items to the player market has been removed. If any problems arise from this, it will be put back into the system in the future.
In an effort to improve the importance and use of the Player Market, all ultrarare items have been removed from in-game shops.
Additional Notes
In addition to the changes we have already implemented, we plan to focus more on improving the Player Market and the in-game economy over the next few game updates. Please read and comment in the related sticky thread in the Support Forum.
Just to clarify how stuns work: Whenever a player is stunned, they cannot be attacked by any additional secondary attacks. Given the power of stuns, it was necessary to prevent a "pile on" scenario from occuring. Also, when a player breaks stun temporarily via their Stamina stat, the player is still considered stunned.
